FAQs
1. Leather Care
Q: Why does leather become softer over time, and how can I prevent deformation?
A: Leather softens with use and adapts to your habits. To avoid wrinkles and deformation, refrain from placing heavy items or overstuffing the bag.
Q: How should I clean deep or stubborn stains on leather?
A: Avoid oil stains and do not attempt to clean deep stains yourself. We recommend consulting a professional leather care service for cleaning and maintenance.
Q: How can I fix minor scratches on the leather?
A: For light scratches caused by daily use, you can apply mink oil to the leather surface. Over time, the scratches will gradually fade.
Q: What should I do if the leather gets wet?
A: If the leather becomes wet, immediately blot the moisture with a clean, dry cloth or paper. Then, insert paper to maintain its shape and leave it in a well-ventilated area to dry naturally.
Important: Avoid direct sunlight or using a hairdryer to dry the leather, as high heat can cause shrinkage, hardening, and deformation.
2. Hardware Care
Q: Why does hardware oxidize, and how can I maintain it?
A: No electroplated hardware is immune to oxidation or wear. To keep hardware in good condition, avoid exposure to corrosive liquids like alcohol or perfume, keep it dry, and prevent scratching. If brass hardware oxidizes, gently polish it with a brass cleaning tool to restore its shine.
3. Storing Leather Goods
Q: How can I prevent mold on leather?
A: Mold can develop when dirt, moisture, and temperature align. Before storing leather items, wipe them clean, let them air dry completely, and stuff them with paper to maintain their shape. Store your items in a dust bag to protect them from scratches or color transfer, and keep them in a dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. Occasionally, take them out to air dry.
4. About Leather
Q: Why are there scars, wrinkles, or uneven textures on the leather? Are these defects?
A: The first layer of cowhide, the outermost layer, is the most durable and has the best texture. Because cows encounter bumps and insect bites in their natural environment, the leather may have scars, wrinkles, or uneven colors. These are natural characteristics and not quality defects.
5. About the Smell
Q: Why does leather have a distinct smell, and can it be removed completely?
A: All of our bags are made from high-quality first-layer cowhide. While we ventilate and deodorize our products as much as possible during storage, the natural smell of leather cannot be entirely eliminated. We appreciate your understanding.
